Add images

For Reader Revenue Manager and Google News Showcase, you can add your own logos in the Publisher Center to:

• Brand and represent your publication
• Customize the user experience

Important: For Google News outside of Google News Showcase panels, or the "News" tab of Google Search, logos in Publisher Center aren't used.

For publisher logos, Google News and Google Search use favicons.

Add a square logo

To upload your logo, your image must follow the requirements below:

• Format: .png (recommended), .jpeg
• Dimensions: 1000x1000 px (recommended), 512x512 px (minimum)

Tip: We recommend you use icons with solid colors, and without rounded corners or unnecessary gradients and effects. We also suggest you use a transparent background instead of white.

To upload an image file:

1. On your computer, go to Publisher Center.
2. Under “More options,” click Manage your publication and your organization Modify publication settings.
3. Select Visual styles.
4. Under the Square logo section, click Add logo.
5. After you upload your logo, at the top right, click Save.

Tip: To change an existing square logo, you can follow the same steps.

Add a rectangular logo

Google News Showcase partners can add a rectangular logo that displays on Google News Showcase panels. Provide versions for both light and dark themes.

To upload your rectangular logo, your image must follow these requirements:

• Text: Include your publication’s full name. Make sure the text is legible regardless of the image size.
• Format: Upload in .png format.
• Width: We recommend 400 px, with the minimum of 200 px.
• Max height and width ratio: 10:1.
  • For example, if the width is 2000 px, the height can't be less than 200 px.
• Padding: If the image has:
  • Ascenders and no descenders: Add padding below the image to match.
  • Descenders and no ascenders: Add padding above the image to match.
  • Ascenders and descenders: Make sure the top and bottom margins from the midline of the text are equal.

To upload an image file:

1. On your computer, go to Publisher Center.
2. Under “More options,” click Manage your publication and your organization Modify publication settings.
3. Select Visual styles.
4. Under the Rectangular logo section, upload your logo:
5. To upload a light theme file: Click Add light logo.
6. To upload a dark theme file: Click Add dark logo.
7. When your upload is complete, at the top right, click Save.

Tip: If you want to modify a light or dark rectangular logo that already exists, you can follow the same steps.
