To verify your site ownership in Publisher Center, you need to verify your site in Search Console.
Before you verify your site:
- Finalize your feed and website URL.
- In Google Search Console, verify the site's ownership.
Verify your site in the Search Console
Important: Sign in to Publisher Center with the same email account that you used to verify your site in Search Console.
To verify your site in Search Console:
- On your computer, go to Publisher Center.
- Under "More options," click Manage your publication and your organization
Modify publication settings.
- Under "General," find "Primary website property URL," and enter the URL.
- Click Verify in search console
Go to Search Console.
- Important: "Verify in Search Console" only shows up after you add your site's URL. After you click, your domain verifies through Search Console.
- Verify ownership with the domain name provider method.
- Verify the full site's ownership.
- For example, verify "news.example.com" instead of "news.example.com/news."
- If you have news content from multiple subdomains, like "example.com" and "news.example.com," verify ownership of the top domain ("example.com").
- If you can't use this method, use the HTML file verification method.
- Verify the full site's ownership.
